Car parking bays:
Usually car parking bays depends on the intended size and land available for you. This is also based on the country, turnover of vehicle and use of the car park. Bay park means positioning the car in the center between the two sets of bays. It is available in different sizes i.e. standard which are used normal to long term use, large bays that are high turnover bays.
The reason of existing varied bays based on the country is of the type of car manufactured. For example, in North America they have large or huge cars and hence may require larger bays. Any storage car park is needed very little space or area per bay. Many manufactures produces car park decking with roof instead car park waterproofing for more valuable parking and also it costs less.
